A dream at good prices and a nice honest team

A visit to the Bürgererkeller, where down-to-earth, honest cuisine is served, a cook who puts his heart and soul into his work, the rustic, lovingly detailed furnishings create a warm feel-good atmosphere, yes, that's where you can sit down. A small inn with a fine, clear menu. We come by regularly and appreciate the fact that, given the current situation, you don't have to go without the delicious dishes. Therefore, even in difficult times, some things can be simple. Call, order, drive there, pick up, drive home, enjoy. There was ox cheek with spaetzle and salad, first of all a brain soup. I haven't eaten such a good brain soup for a long time. Unfortunately, this treat can no longer be found on many menus these days. Great and the bonnets (duchess potatoes) were enclosed separately. The cheeks tender as butter and, together with the spaetzle from the spaetzle press and the strong sössle, a palate snap. However, this type of tasting has a tiny catch: you keep the praise to yourself, but you will express it to the hosts with a return :)

A real feel-good place for slow foodies We can only recommend every friend of fine home-style Swabian cuisine to mark the small town of Schlierbach on the map. There the friendly Hokenmaier family runs the Bürgererkeller restaurant. The cozy dining room in the vaulted cellar of the community center was lovingly designed by the tenants to be a place of wellbeing. Many anti-quality items and self-made furniture give the Bürgerstube an individual ambience. Uli Hokenmaier, the head chef with the headband as a trademark, convinces his guests with a skilled, fresh regional cuisine - Swabian fine home cooking without any frills. All products are fresh and come from the region. From the small, fine menu we ordered homemade Maultaschen with melted onions and bacon as well as the Schlierbacher Bratflädele specialty. The Maultaschen surprised us with their filigree, strudel-like structure and the fine aromatic filling - this is real traditional craftsmanship, which is vastly different from industrially manufactured products. The Bratflädele were a flat dough beef roulade with a perfectly reduced Trollinger gravy. The side dish of wonderful tasting potato salad made from local Annabelle potatoes made this classic a real treat. The visit to the Bürgererkeller will be remembered as the highlight of our culinary discovery tour through the Swabian Alb. For all friends of authentic, no-frills quality cuisine, a visit to Hokenmaier's Bürgererkeller is a must. Please note the opening times.

Very tasty ... always happy

Special circumstances require special measures !! The food is also excellent for collection and very, very tasty. Everything freshly prepared, super packed and still hot when unpacking at home. I had the pork loin with spaetzle and salad. The sauce is fantastic and delicious. There was even an extra mug of vegetables. Just because. Very great and nice touch. Thank you for that and we will order or come again.

It is very cozy and can eat very well, but they are only open from Thursday to Sunday!

Swabian cuisine from Feinschden. Everything very fresh and delicious, highly recommended. Cozy nice atmosphere to feel good. There are also two bowling alleys. We were there in a larger group yesterday and everyone was very happy. Thanks a lot! Another plus: no apostrophe in the name, wonderful😊

Had a New Year's Eve menu in 2019 with friends. Five courses. For me, the chef came up with a vegan menu although he had a lot to do with all the preparations. Thanks again for the extra effort. Everything was wonderful and the portions were not too small, we were all very full. The service and the whole ambience were also very successful. Thank you from here to the whole team who had given us a nice evening. A very clear recommendation from me to have a wonderful meal.

The food from appetizer (soup) to including dessert just a poem. 5 stars are not enough for this taste! It tastes good, the food is absolutely fresh. Kudos to the kitchen, the chef (Mr. Hokenmaier) understands his craft perfectly. All the tables of the entire restaurant, which is very comfortable and furnished to love in detail, were occupied. (A reservation would be advisable) This was not noticed, because the very fast, very friendly and very attentive service staff (including Mrs. Hokenmaier), the food served very quickly. That means there really was not a long wait between ordering and eating. It is a pleasure to see how service and kitchen work together, to radiate peace, in spite of the full dining room. What more could you want as a guest, a perfect meal in an atmosphere in which you feel very well. A big thank you to the owner Hokenmaier, you us a nice 1. Advent evening have brought. We will definitely be back !!!!!!!

The food and the atmosphere were very good. Can you recommend.

We celebrated the 60s here and ate very delicious from the daily menu. Minor changes to the side dishes e.g. were organized without problems and we were completely satisfied. Especially with the sauces you can see that the kitchen is working on high quality. We sat separately at a large table and yet the service was very attentive and we never had to wait until we could order something (after). You can also see that a lot of effort was made in the selection of the decoration and interior, everything fits together nicely and gives a great overall picture. We are happy to come back in the future.

We were last Sunday to eat in the Bürgerkeller. Food was fantastic, super delicious sauces, great spaetzle and a very tender meat. The owner and chef came to us at the table. Very sympathetic and hospitable! We will be back definitely :)
